Amedeo, the last time we saw you was at Guillaumes wedding. How about showing your waffle face again?

(Woman’s voice over): He has the looks, the [royal] titles and the money. But at his twenty-fifth [age], he lives like a common civilian in New York City. In a self-written text, he recently answered questions for the press. Communication expert Marcel van der Avert instantly notices something.
(Marcel van der Avert/Guy with glasses): It’s rather a-typical the Belgian court that he [Amedeo] strongly lays emphasis on his independent spot [since] he went abroad. In the text he [Amedeo] wrote he thinks it’s good that nobody knows his name there [in NYC], as he only gets judged on his results [his performance] and not on who he is [a prince].
(Marcel van der Avert/Guy with glasses): That’s a good thing which fits in with this new vision people have regarding new princes and that they are deeply anchored in day-to-day life and that they take care of their own income.
(Woman’s voice over): Amedeo talks extensively about his childhood, his studies and his army-training at the Royal Military School. About this, he [Amedeo] says the following: “I have unforgettable memories of my military training in Belgium. I consider myself very lucky having been able to follow it. The most essential thing that I learned during my training is the importance of team-spirit.”
(Woman’s voice over): The prince wrote the text himself but the palace still asks him explicitly not to give interview-like answers, as it’s only about background-info.
(Marcel van der Avert/Guy with glasses): I think it’s a unique manner of communicating [he’s talking about the text that Amedeo wrote]. Naturally questions are being sent and people answer them so it’s printed like an interview. But to give answers to questions, so to actually give an interview, and then write above the text “this is no interview”, well, it’s a unique way of dealing with the press. [He sounds kind of mocking.]
(Woman’s voice over): Amedeo writes he’s proud of his family, both his father and mother’s side. About his love life he says only this:“According to the sensationpress [tabloids] I belong to the ‘top 10’ most desirable single princes. I’m very grateful for that[/I’m flattered], although I fear I’m only included in the list because there’s a lack of princely bachelors (smileyface).”
(Woman’s voice over): Amedeo is seventh in line for the throne, so the chance he’ll ever make it to king is small. But with his good sense of humour and his down-to-earth attitude, he could really improve the image of our royal house.
(Marcel van der Avert/Guy with glasses): Seventh in line for the throne, a modern prince who, let’s say, is a decent looking guy, who’s sportive, well educated… so a guy with a whole series of pro’s and advantages, which could be used to give the Belgian court a more positive image, yet they deliberately don’t make use of it.

“Why isn’t anybody here fangirling over Prince Amedeo of Belgium? He’s very cute! He graduated from LSE(London School of Economics) and is now working discreetly in NYC. He’s the ultra-modern Prince Charming, aye!” - Submitted by 27fishes
